AGILITY SEMINARS

We Are Excited To Have Christine Tschech
Back for Four Handling Seminars!!!
Sunday, May 4, 2025 and Sunday, May 11, 2025

Christine T

Christine has been involved with agility for over 16 years and is currently competing in AKC, UKI, USDAA and AKC ISC (International Style Courses) with her two border collies, Kwik and Lumi.  Christine’s accomplishments include:

  • US Team member (alternate) on the AKC 2023 European Open Team
  • 2025 UKI SE Regional Brilliant Dog - Highest scoring of all dogs
  • AKC National Finalist
  • UKI US Open National Winner
  • 2024 Multiple UKI Open podium placements
  • UKI Northeast Regional Overall Winner
  • Multiple wins at UKI Regional Competitions
  • THERE ARE WAY MORE TO ADD BUT YOU CAN SEE SHE’S AMAZING AND ACCOMPLISHED!!!!

Christine loves working with students.  Her first and most important goal is to instill a love of the game in both the handler and the dog, regardless of the competition level. “It’s a game and if it’s not fun then we are not doing it right!”

SUNDAY, MAY 4, 2025 8 working slots per seminar, limited auditors

8:30 am-12:30 pm • WHO'S AFRAID OF THREADLES?

We will discuss the basics of how to teach our dogs the basic types of threadles and then run some challenging sequences with all types of threadles - threadle Wraps, threadle Slices, tunnel threadles, threadles from odd angles/approaches and more. Suitable for dogs who have a basic understanding of threadle wraps and threadle slices.

1:30 pm-5:30 pm • EITHER-OR

Challenge your dog's understanding of your cues with tricky sequences. We will incorporate discriminations, bypasses and layers. This workshop will fine-tune your handling for those challenging UKI or ISC style courses. Suitable for dogs at the Masters level or permission of instructor.

SUNDAY, MAY 11, 2025 8 working slots per seminar, limited auditors

8:30 am-12:30 pm • YOUNG DOGS

Come spend half a day building confidence and understanding in your youngster. We will run longish sequences of jumps and tunnels and work on some foundation skills - turning, forward focus, etc. The goal is to build confidence and speed on courses that are fun for both handler and dog. Suitable for any pup sequencing a few obstacles. They do not need to be jumping full height.

1:30 pm-5:30 pm • COMMITMENT WITH OPPOSING MOTION

We will work on commitment - especially with opposing motion, by focusing on connection and reward placement. Staying in motion and not having to stay and wait for your dog to take the obstacle is incredibly helpful in getting to where you need to be next on course. Suitable for most teams! We will work primarily with jumps and tunnels (no contacts), but will have a set of weaves out for more advanced teams.

Cost: Oriole Members - $125 per seminar; Non-members - $135 per seminar,  Auditing: Oriole members - $40 per session; Non-members $45 per session.

Location: Oriole Dog Training Club - 9 Azar Court, Halethorpe, MD 21227
